City business powers its way to third anniversary
BATTERY World Ipswich celebrated its third birthday yesterday, but the presents went to QT prize-winners instead of the store.
Pamela and Jim Bales became the proud new owners of a generator, solar panel and 100AH AGM Battery, after QT marketing manager Lauren Roche announced they had won.
Battery World franchise co-owner Ruthie Farrar said it was great to share the store's success with the community.
"We like giving back ... we've supported bowls clubs, kindergartens and the Ipswich Netball Association over the past three years," Ms Farrar said.
"We're also proud of our great service - more than 70% of our customers are return customers."
Ms Farrar said she and husband Howdie, along with the rest of the Battery World Ipswich team, were looking forward to the next few years.
"Our third birthday celebrations have been a bit low-key, but we're looking forward to our fifth birthday," she said.
"Ipswich is growing and developments like the Ripley Valley are exciting.
"We've also got growth plans for the business - we'd like to extend to a second store in the region and we've been researching the Redbank Plains and Goodna area."
Over the past three years, Battery World Ipswich has won two Battery World Franchise of the Year awards, two Marketing Individual awards and an Environmental Recycler award.
"We were proud to bring a voluntary recycling program to Ipswich, which is a big thing," Ms Farrar said.
