Chill to be replaced by showers

THE near-perfect blue skies that have graced Ipswich over the last few days could be numbered, with forecasters expecting rain clouds to settle by the end of the week.

Another clear morning on Monday resulted in Ipswich freezing its way into another week, with a minimum of two degrees recorded at Amberley just before 6.30am.

Once the sun showed its face, the mercury quickly rose to a comfortable 23.

While the Bureau of Meteorology has given only a chance of showers for Tuesday, the forecast is more certain toward the end of the week.

Showers should begin to settle in by Thursday.

There is a bit of a silver lining, in that the added cloud will result in much warmer overnight temperatures for the remainder of the week.

A cold start of six degrees should warm to a maximum of 23 Tuesday.
