Child sex offender faces court for sentencing

A MAN will be sentenced over the coming months after being found guilty of child sex offences.

Bradley Clinton Seager-Hanslow, 23, was found guilty last year of two counts of indecent treatment of a child following a two day trial in Ipswich District Court.

The offences against a young girl occurred between August 13 and September 29, 2014 at Laidley.

He was arrested on October 24, 2014 and is currently on bail.

Seager-Hanslow was due to be sentenced on Thursday but the matter was adjourned.

Defence barrister Scott Neaves told the court the sentencing could not go ahead as further time was needed to obtain certain reports.

He said it included a psychiatric report but Legal Aid had rejected a request to pay its cost.

Judge Sarah Bradley ordered Probation and Parole to complete a pre-sentence custody report ahead of sentencing which must include a psychiatric report.

She also ordered the report include an assessment of Seager-Hanslow's risk of re-offending.

Judge Bradley listed the matter for sentencing on April 28 in Ipswich District Court.

Seager-Hanslow had nine supporters in court who could be heard saying he was not guilty of the offences.
