Victoria comes clean after adventure in washing machine

MOMENTS after being rescued from her grandmother's washing machine the adventurous three-year-old was suggesting "next time get a bigger one".

Little Victoria Younger somehow managed to get her legs trapped in her grandmother, Kathleen Torrens's, washing machine while the family was visiting from Brisbane for Father's Day.

Ms Torrens and Victoria's mum and dad, Trish and Jamie, first became aware of the predicament when they heard Victoria's cries for help.

"We were having breakfast when we heard her calling, "I'm stuck, I can't get out," Ms Torrens said.

The family quickly realised getting Victoria out wasn't going to be an easy task and called the firies and ambos to the Bli Bli property for help.

"They came pretty quickly, thankfully," Ms Torrens said.

But it took them 40 minutes to extricate Victoria from of the machine, using spanners and screwdrivers. "It was quite a drama, but it all turned out well."

Victoria came out the machine none the worse for wear.

Despite getting several scratches on her knees during the rescue, she was in good enough spirits to continue with the planned Father's Day celebrations.

"Afterwards we still went to Cotton Tree for our picnic," Ms Torrens said.

And the family later returned to their Brisbane home.

Ms Torrens' old washing machine wasn't quite so lucky. It was wrecked in the rescue and she had to spend yesterday shopping for a new one.

"When Victoria heard we were going to get a new one, she said, 'Make sure it's bigger next time so I can get in it'," Ms Torrens said.
