Meet ghosts, ghouls and goblins on Halloween train ride

A CENTURY-OLD steam train complete with ghouls, goblins and ghosts is set to delight families this Halloween.

Queensland Pioneer Steam Railway events manager Robert Shearer said the spooky trip would include an evening train ride, onboard actors, best dressed prizes and, of course, plenty of lollies.

"It's a rare chance for people to ride in the old timber carriages at night which is a thrill in itself," he said.

"The trip offers a safe, fun and exciting activity for families and kids to do this Halloween.

"We're also offering a VIP option with finger food at the Racehorse and an added ghost walk."

The train will leave from the Racehorse Hotel at 4pm 6.30pm with the VIP trips departing at 3pm and 5pm.

Standard tickets cost $15 for adults and $9 for children and concession while the VIP option costs $25 per adult, $11 per child and $15 for concession card holders.

Bookings are essential.
