CCTV footage and bank transactions lead police to burglar

A 40-year-old female has been arrested and charged with stealing and fraud offences, after she entered an elderly woman's residence in Bundamba, on Sunday night.

It is believed that the offender entered the residence, with the proviso of using her phone to call for a lift.

Whilst the woman's back was turned, the offender has grabbed her phone and wallet, and fled the address.

The offender has then fraudulently used the woman's credit cards, at different locations, throughout Ipswich.

Yamanto police were called and were quick to check CCTV footage from streets nearby, and recent credit card transactions, to determine the possible location of the offender.

Police investigations resulted in a successful arrest of the offender, in North Ipswich.
