Cats warming up for big season of football

THE Ipswich Cats Junior AFL Club starts training for the upcoming season today, from 5pm, at the Ivor Marsden Sporting Complex at One Mile.

The junior club caters for boys and girls aged from under 6 to under 17s.

The club hopes to build from its 200 players last season.

Each age division features modified rules that promote the fun and enjoyment of the game.

The club has appointed two development coaches to oversee and assist the team coaches to ensure that the players learn the correct techniques and have fun at the same time.

The club is fielding under 11, under 13 and under-15 girls teams. The 2015 under-15 side is moving up to U17s after making the semi-finals last year. The team has been training strongly during the pre-season.

The junior teams regularly play on Saturday mornings, with half the games at home and the away games in the greater Ipswich area.

The youth teams regularly play on Sundays.
