Carr condemns Beirut bomb attack

AUSTRALIA'S Foreign Minister Bob Carr on Sunday condemned a bomb attack in Beirut which killed three people and injured more than 80 others on Saturday.

Among those killed was senior civil servant Lebanese Internal Security Forces Information Bureau Director Wissam al-Hassan.

Senator Carr said the "barbaric act of terrorism" deserved global condemnation and those responsible should be "brought to justice".

Following the Saturday attack, a national day of mourning was held in Lebanon on Sunday, sparking riots and protests across the country.
