Car and boat fully submerged in ramp mishap

AN elderly couple was lucky to get away unscathed after their car and boat rolled off the Goodna boat ramp yesterday.

Police said the couple was reversing a boat into the Brisbane River at the Brisbane Tce boat ramp, about 2.20pm, when the hand brake cable gave way.

The car and boat were both fully submerged, but luckily nobody was trapped in the vehicle.

Police said a tow truck was called to retrieve the vehicle and trailer, but divers were required to fit the cable to the tow point.
