Canoe polo offers refreshing option

SPRINGFIELD Centenary Canoe Club is back playing canoe polo at Spring Lake East during the warmer months.

With some exciting events coming up in the sport, matches are played every second Sunday, starting at 2pm.

All gear is supplied, with newcomers invited to come and try the fun aquatic sport.

A training camp is coming up this weekend, with international coaches on hand to assist.

With canoe polo likely to be included as an Olympic sport in 2024, young participants are invited to test out the sport.

The Springfield Centenary Canoe Club are current Queensland open polo champions.

A team is preparing to contest the over 45 age group at the World Masters Games in Auckland in April.

The national high schools championships start in 2017.

National high schools championships start next year.
