RESIDENTS welcoming home the veterans of Operation Slipper this Saturday will be treated to one of the most impressive flypasts for modern-day parades.

The army and air force will both be flying platforms that have a link to the operation in Afghanistan and the Middle East.

Three RAAF Amberley-based C-17 Globemasters will lead the flypast, followed by two S-70A-9 Black Hawk helicopters from the Army Aviation Training Centre at Oakey.

The C-17s, which have been heavily involved in the Australian support for Vanuatu this week, will fly in formation from Amberley, over Archerfield and Indooroopilly, arriving over the Victoria Bridge at 10.35am before flying down Adelaide St, honouring the veterans marching below them.
