EMERGENCY services were called to a rural Ipswich road this morning after the fuel tank of a bus ruptured.

Police said the incident happened on Rosewood-Warrill View Road at Ebenezer about 11.10am.

A police spokesman said the fuel tank ruptured, spilling diesel on to the road.

Queensland Fire and Rescue Service crews were called out to spread chemical absorbent over the road.

There was no indication that passengers were on the bus.
