Burn at Wivenhoe Dam starts this week

SEQWATER will start a planned burn at Wivenhoe Dam tomorrow.

The burn will be undertaken in the Spillway Common south of the dam and is expected to take three to four days to complete, subject to weather conditions and unforeseen delays.

During the burn, the Spillway Common area and access to Atkinson's Crossing will be closed to recreation and will reopen once safe to do so.

Where appropriate, smoke hazard signs will be put in place to warn motorists and lake visitors.

The burn is part of Seqwater's fire management program for its land across south-east Queensland.
