Bulls charge to massive win over Bushies

A COMFORTABLE 116-run win over Victoria, and accompanying bonus point, has put Queensland into top spot on the Matador Cup ladder behind NSW.

Sent into bat by Bushrangers skipper Matthew Wade, the Bulls racked up 5-372 in their 50 overs - a record at North Sydney Oval and 23 short of the record for the competition of 4-405 set by Queensland in 2004.

Queensland's top five batsmen all made contributions. After openers Chris Hartley (pictured, 90) and Usman Khawaja (85) put on 185 for the first wicket, Joe Burns made 42 at better than a run-a-ball, while Nathan Reardon (52 off 27 deliveries) and Peter Forrest (67 not out off 49) lifted the scoring rate even further.

In reply, Peter Handscomb top-scored with 72 in Victoria's reply of 256.

Ben Cutting took 4-63 to claim man-of-the-match honours, with Simon Milenko also taking three wickets.

The Bulls play the Tigers next on Saturday.
