BROOKE Jowett had the tables turned on her in Australian Survivor's most shocking elimination so far.

In just one day she went from being one half of the reality show's core alliance to being blind-sided by her best friend in the game, Felicity 'Flick' Egginton.

"I was completely blind sided. I had no idea," Ms Jowett told APN.

"There was no way for it to happen without her (Flick) being involved.

"I could see her getting a bit paranoid but I didn't think it would backfire on me. I thought someone else would be in the firing line."

The betrayal had a profound effect on the young women's relationship.

"It definitely impacted our friendship; that's all I'll say," she said.

"It is a game but it definitely hit me hard.

"I'm still very good friends with Sam, Matt and Nick."

The 23-year-old hopes she'll be remembered as a skilled social player and not a 'mean girl', as she and Flick had been dubbed by the show's viewers.

"That's one thing that's getting to me. I don't mind any of the other comments, but the meant girls tag is something I can't stand," she said.

"It doesn't describe us at all. We were just powerful women playing the game the way it was meant to be played."

Ms Jowett, who left a corporate job as a sales executive to go on Survivor, has just landed a job as a social media, promotions and events coordinator for former Bachelor Sam Wood's fitness company.

"It applied normally and it came up completely separate of Survivor," she said.

"I have such a passion for health and fitness and social media. It's the perfect job for me."

Ms Jowett will now sit on the jury of eliminated castaways who will decide which of the show's two finalists wins the $500,000 grand prize.

"In terms of game play El is incredible. Her social game is amazing and she deserves to get to the end," she said.

"The person I'd like to see win, after all of this stuff, is Sam. We had a great friendship and he was loyal to me. He really deserves the money and I know it would be put to a good cause."

Australian Survivor continues on Sunday at 7.30pm on Channel 10.
