NRL GRAND FINAL: How the Broncos players rated

Darius Boyd 7 ½ Made 61m in first half, and chimed in well at times. Cool-headed play to shepherd ball over the dead-ball line and earn his team a 20m tap after 56 minutes.

Corey Oates 8 ½ Ran 80m for brilliant grand-final try. Then produced a try-saving tackle on Kyle Feldt in the 13th minute. Young, elusive and fearless.

Jack Reed 8 ½ Bounced back in defence from a couple of misreads on the Roosters' Blake Ferguson in the preliminary final. Great finish for his try in the 34th minute. Then an inspiring kick-chase off a Ben Hunt grubber forced Kyle Feldt in goal in 69th minute.

Justin Hodges (capt) 6 Defensively sound out wide despite carrying an injury into his final first-grade game. No fairytale finish.

Jordan Kahu 7 ½ Impressive take in-goal late in first half. Very safe under the high ball throughout the game.

Anthony Milford 9 Great vision and enterprise for Broncos' first try, setting up Reed and Oates. Big line break in the 17th minute and always a danger with the ball. Two brilliant steals in the second half.

Ben Hunt 7 ½ Defensively strong. Nice controlled kicking game in the second half regularly finding touch and giving his tired forwards some rest. Silly lifting tackle on Kane Linnett gave away a penalty with three minutes to go, then the horror dropped ball that proved so costly.

Sam Thaiday 7 ½ Another massive effort in the engine room. Made 60m in the first 15 minutes alone.

Andrew McCullough 7 Should have put Corey Parker over for a try in 32nd, but another massive work rate in defence.

Adam Blair 8 Physical in the tough early exchanges. Brilliant offload in heavy traffic set up Broncos' first amazing try. Reckless high tackle gave away a penalty in 66th minute, but pulled off a handful of bruising tackles.

Alex Glenn 6 Quieter than usual in attack. Came into the game under an injury cloud and had much less impact than usual.

Matt Gillett 8 Helped set up Brisbane's second try. Brilliant desperate cover tackle denied Lachlan Coote a try in 63rd minute.

Corey Parker 8 Typical Parker game - strong in attack and defence. Led the tackle and run count for his team despite spending time on the bench.

Jarrod Wallace 8 Has the ability to constantly carry defenders forward Made 81m in the first half. Tremendous effort.

Mitchell Dodds 6 A few no-frills hit-ups helped out his team off the bench.

Jo Ofahengaue 5 ½ Nice impact in attack soon after coming on from the bench in the second half. Player of the future.

Kodi Nikorima 5 ½ Not his usual high impact after coming on off the bench.
