Breayley caps perfect season as Broncos' Player of the Year
BROTHERS Ipswich skipper Brittany Breayley has capped off a remarkable individual 2018 season by being named Broncos NRLW player of the year at the club's annual presentation night on Saturday night.
The Broncos honour came a week after Breayley was awarded the female Dally M player of the year for the NRLW competition days prior to steering her side to a 34-12 grand final victory over the Sydney Roosters.
The Australian Jillaroos representative pipped Warriors hooker Krystal Rota, Roosters winger Taleena Simon and Dragons centre Jess Sergis for the medal - the fourth in the history of the women's game.
The 27-year-old had twice previously been nominated for the award as the game's best female player without winning.
Breayley scored once and laid off four more tries as the Broncos completed a dominant four-game season with a 110-30 cumulative record.
She averaged just under 72 metres and 31 tackles per game.
Breayley was also named 'best forward' at the Broncos' annual presentation ball in Brisbane.
Five-eighth Kimiora Nati was the other big winner on the evening, taking out 'best back' and the NRLW Players' Player trophy as voted on by her peers.
