PHOTOS: Investigators comb scene of Gladstone house fire

UPDATE: 10.21pm: 

EMERGENCY CREWS evacuated a family as a fire tore through a bedroom of their home.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services were alerted to the fire at Pashley St, Clinton about 3pm yesterday afternoon.

Police set up road blocks on either side of the house as smoke covered the street.

Firefighters also parked their truck across the road, establishing a base on the front lawn opposite the home.

At its peak, three fire crews, one of which was an aviation fire crew, were at the scene battling the blaze.

Two paramedic units were also at the scene on standby.

One side of the house was left blackened while smoke continued to billow from the roof.

The fire also shattered the windows of the home.

Firefighters were dampening any potential hot spots throughout the house until about 4.30pm yesterday.

A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokesman said firefighters were not able to determine the cause of the fire at the scene.

They handed the scene to investigators at about 4.50pm.

It's understood nobody was seriously injured.

UPDATE: 4.05pm:

FIREFIGHTER are still in an "operational capacity" at a house fire in Clinton.

Police have cordoned off Pashley St. Firefighters are ventilating the home.

But it's understood the fire has largely been brought under control.

The family living inside the house has been evacuated.

WINDOWS of a home that has caught alight in Clinton are broken.

The side of the house is blackened.
