Break-ins at bakery and bowls club

POLICE believe the overnight robbery of an East Ipswich bakery is linked to a break-in at a bowls club nearby.

An employee at the bakery on Jacaranda St sustained facial injuries after being assaulted by three to four men who raided the business in the early hours of Monday morning.

The men stole the keys to a vehicle which was then driven a short distance up the road and abandoned.

Police were called to a break-in at the United Services Bowls Club on Joyce St a short time later.

Officers from the dog squad used the stolen car to track down four men at a house in the area.

The men have been arrested but are yet to be charged.

Investigations are continuing.
