Boxercise a big hit in fitness

DEEBING Heights and Yamanto residents can keep fit during winter by taking part in community boxercise classes.

The classes, held at Stockland's latest housing development, Sovereign Pocket, run on Wednesday evenings from 5.30pm in conjunction with the Ipswich Hospital Foundation.

The classes, conducted by fitness instructor and personal trainer Kirsty Lacey, are open to people of all ages and fitness levels.

The sessions cost $5, which is donated to the Ipswich Hospital Foundation.

"This is a boxing-for-fitness class with the emphasis firmly on building fitness," Ms Lacey said.

"The sessions will make use of boxing gloves and pads but this is a low-impact workout which concentrates on developing cardiovascular fitness," she said.
