Bowls day helps in the quest to solve crime

THE Ipswich Crime Stoppers Volunteer Area Committee is hosting its second Annual Barefoot bowls Day at Swifts Sports Club on Sunday, May 29.

Bowlers will roll up at 9am with teams of four taking up the fundraising challenge. Tickets will be available from Monday, March 21, by contacting the Swifts Bowls Club or Sergeant Nadine Webster on 3817 1351.

Sgt Webster said drinks were available for purchase on the day as well as prizes and raffles.

"Come along and have some fun whilst raising funds to support Crime Stoppers," she said.

"In January for the Ipswich district anonymous information provided to Crime Stoppers resulted in $74,140 worth of drugs seized with 16 persons arrested on 38 charges."
