FANS of The Boss who didn't get to see the American rock legend earlier this year will get another chance early next year.

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band announced on Friday that the giant of the music industry would return in February 2014.

The tour comes less than a year after The Boss finished his Wrecking Ball tour, which featured passionate performances at Hanging Rock.

Manager Jon Landau said the shows in Australia were "among the best and most satisfying" of the whole 128-show tour this year.

Since leaving Australia, Mr Landau said the band had been planning a return trip - which would include shows in the Hunter Valley, Perth and Adelaide.

Fans will also get a chance to see Bruce perform in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Auckland, with tickets on sale from August 24.

Tickets to the 2014 Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band tour go on sale Monday August 26.

Pre-sale tickets will be offered from Wednesday August 21 via www.frontiertouring.com/brucespringsteen
