Police obtain footage of Boonah fight

POLICE have obtained closed circuit television footage of a fight in a hotel at Boonah which left a man with serious head injuries.

A 45-year-old Boonah man remains in a serious but stable condition in the Princess Alexandra Hospital, where he has been since the assault about 12.15am Sunday.

He was injured after being struck and hitting his head on the ground at a pub on High St.

Police say the man is suffering swelling on the brain and requires a ventilator to help him breathe while in hospital.

Detectives have been unable to speak with the man due to his condition.

Although investigations are continuing, police say there are several witnesses and they believed they knew the identity of the other man involved in the fight.

No charges have been laid.

Police are also waiting to see how seriously injured the victim is before deciding on how to proceed with the charges.
