Blow the tax bonus

NORFOLK Island is making the most of a stimulating time by offering stimulus package deals to this beautiful and historically significant island paradise.

Blow Kevin's bonus on a fabulous holiday - for $899 per person the package includes return airfares from Sydney or Brisbane, twin-share accommodation for seven nights, car hire for seven days, a free history lovers' pack including entry to one museum, 'A Walk In The Wild' rainforest experience, mini golf and a bonus discount shopping card.

That should sort you out for a week of fun and discovery.

Norfolk Island Tourism general manager Terry Watson said the package offered a timely, value-packed opportunity to spend time in one of the region's most beautiful locations.

“Norfolk is an ideal place for guests to forget about these challenging times and immerse themselves in the history and natural beauty of the island,” Mr Watson said.

There's usually something going on in this part of the world as well - the island is prone to partying.

The place will be jumping on June 8 for Bounty Day - when the islanders don traditional nosh to celebrate the 1856 arrival of the Pitcairn Islanders.

Later in the year, you'll find opera, folk and jazz weekends, theatre festivals, even a Scrabble tournament - and each week the fabulous Norfolk Island Markets kick off on Sundays at 8.30am.

The package is valid until June 2009 for packages booked six months ahead of the travel date until March 2010.
