Blood service needs more Ipswich donors

MORE than 50 Ipswich donors are needed over the next two weeks to provide a boost to Queensland's dwindling blood stocks.

Cold and flu cancellations combined with a low number of bookings means the Blood Service needs more donors to give blood over the next fortnight.

Spokeswoman Belinda Smetioukh encouraged eligible Ipswich residents to roll up their sleeves.

"We're urging people who are aged between 16 and 70, feel fit and healthy, and who want to help save lives, to roll up their sleeves and give blood between now and July 3," she said.

Bookings are essential - call 13 14 95 or visit donateblood.com.au.
