The Block goes back to school with gorgeous kids rooms

THE divide between Ronnie and Georgie and the other Block teams continues to widen.

The feisty Perth couple won their second room reveal in a row and earned the first perfect score of 10 from judge Neale Whitaker for their kid's bedroom.

They also won the right to take one point away from another team's score next week, choosing runners-up Jason and Sarah - who copped it on the chin.

Rivalries aside, it was a night full of fun and whimsy as all five teams had fun with their brief.

Georgia and Ronnie once again used the modern colours of blush pink and grey, this time interpreting them for their girls' room.

The judges were impressed with their wallpapered ceiling, ample storage space and perfect styling.

"This is the bedroom that memories are made of," Shaynna Blaze said.

"They've thought of everything - functionality, working with the tradition (of the house) and working with a modern palette."

Melbourne couple Jason and Sarah pulled together a gender-neutral bedroom at the last minute after again struggling to manage their time.

The judges loved their animal-themed room with its silver zebra wallpaper and sophisticated touches.

"We've just gone into the land of whimsy and fun and creativity," Darren Palmer said.

"It has that sense of play and whimsy but it's not child-like; it's not childish. It's actually very sophisticated and it's really beautiful."

Sticks and Wombat finished third with their lofty boy's bedroom, featuring a towering double decker bed and rock climbing wall.

"No one is ever going to forget the house with the climbing wall," Neale Whitaker said.

But the mates were let down by their badly hung wallpaper and practical touches like the accessibility of the light switch for the upper bunk.

Josh and Elyse's beachy teenage retreat finished fourth, a letdown from the mid-week challenge which the young couple won for their idea of installing a mezzanine study area.

While the extra level was promising, the judges were left underwhelmed by its design and the overall styling of the room.

"When you're here you don't get the magic that you have this two-height feeling," Shaynna Blaze said.

"There's nothing to look at. It's actually quite vanilla."

Beleaguered Queenslanders Clint and Hannah finished last after briefly bouncing back last week.

Their idea to swap the location of their laundry and kids room to create a private courtyard accessed by a sliding glass door backfired with the judges.

While Hannah's styling was praised, the couple was warned that the room's size and safety concerns were likely to hurt them come auction day.

"This is called a kids' room and it will be promoted as a kid's room. If you've got a sliding door there that goes out into a courtyard, would you really want that open as a door? Wouldn't you rather a window so the kids are safe?" Shaynna said.

"All of their styling choice are gorgeous.

"Unfortunately, I think the planning has brought them undone. It's almost like they're jumping in too quickly and not looking at the consequences."

This upcoming week the teams will renovate their 'anything' rooms.
