Bike for Burns on way to Ipswich

A PACK of exhausted bike-riding firefighters will pass through Ipswich tomorrow on the final leg of a massive fundraising journey for burns victims.

The Bike for Burns ride has covered almost 900km through northern NSW and south-east Queensland over the last week.

The 45 riders will come from the Lockyer Valley along the Warrego Highway before merging onto the Ipswich Motorway for the last part of the trip to the Royal Children's Hospital, where they are expected to arrive about 2pm.

Now in it's sixth year, the charity event has raised more than $185,000 for research into children's burns.
