Back to Bremer for Class of '79
EX-BREMER State High School Students are hoping to relive their school days at their 35-year school reunion in October.
Organisers are looking for more people who graduated as part of the "Class of 1979".
According to ex-Bremer State High student Kathryn Dampier, the cohort produced a very diverse group of professionals.
"People became lawyers, doctors, marine biologists, radio announcers, engineers, teachers, so it's a pretty special group," she said.
"We are looking for graduates from 1979 as well as people who began Grade 8 at Bremer in 1975 because back then a lot of people left before Grade 12."
Nadine Tallon was school captain in 1979 and started the "Bremer High School Class of 1979" Facebook page to look for old friends online.
"Now we're up to 50 members on the Facebook page, but we're looking for more people to come to the reunion," the physiotherapist said.
"We had a 10 and 20 year reunion, I love finding out what people have done with their lives."
Dr David Careless was also a school captain in 1979 and is now a rheumatologist.
"You always have that nostalgia for your school days, they were the happiest of your life," he said.
"The sad part in life is you lose a lot of friends along the way so it's good to catch up." The reunion will be held on October 4 at the Ipswich Turf Club.
