Assault on father leaves baby with serious head injuries

A FOUR-WEEK-OLD baby girl has been admitted to the Lady Cilento Hospital with serious head injuries after an incident involving her father at Slacks Creek late yesterday afternoon.

About 5pm yesterday the father was approached by two men in a car as he walked on Argonaut Place. One of the men allegedly got out of the car and assaulted the father.

During the assault the baby girl was flung in the air and landed on the road.

A 26-year-old man and 48-year-old man have been charged with two counts of assault occasioning bodily harm.

They are due to appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on July 9.
