UPDATE 1pm: ONE lane of the Bruce Hwy has reopened after a truck rollover 14km south of Marlaborough early this morning.

Police advise lengthy delays are expected and remind motorists to be patient.

The Department of Transport and Main Roads advises the Bruce Highway is still closed to all traffic between Rockhampton and Marlborough (approx 10km south of Marlborough). 

The highway is expected to remain closed for a number of hours while the vehicle is removed from traffic lanes. 

Motorists are advised to expect lengthy delays when travelling north of Rockhampton.

UPDATE 8.51am: Police have confirmed the Bruce Hwy is still closed south of Marlborough, despite reports of one lane re-opening.

A police spokesperson said the removal of the truck from the road is taking longer than expected. The lanes in both directions remain closed.

 

UPDATE 7.35am: EMERGENCY crews are working to open one lane of the Bruce Hwy, south of Marlborough, by 8.30am.

However, police state the highway won't be completely open until midday due to the rollover.

 

UPDATE 6.50am: ONE lane of the Bruce Hwy is expected to open in an hour or so, according to Queensland Police media.

No diversions are in place.

It has been confirmed the truck driver escaped injury, however, he was transported to Rockhampton Hospital by Queensland Ambulance Service.

BREAKING 6.08am: THE Bruce Hwy is blocked in both directions near Marlborough after a B-double rolled over at 4am.

The Bruce Hwy is currently shut in both directions around 14kms south of Marlborough.

The highway will be closed for another few hours as a tow truck makes its way to the scene. It's believed the driver of the truck is out of the vehicle and has been transported to hospital. 

A police spokesperson advised if motorists are thinking of travelling, please stop and have a break because it will be a few hours before traffic gets moving again.
