Authors ready to share their stories

LOCAL authors, photographers and film-makers gathered at Laidley's QN Hotel on Sunday to shoot a video publicising the upcoming launch of their books.

Tell Me a Story Bookshop owner and publisher Andrea Kwast interviewed several of her authors for the video, which is now available on Facebook and You Tube.

Ms Kwast said her youngest author, Isabella Ward, 13, would be releasing her first book The Blue Bear at the gala launch in the Cultural Centre on Saturday.

"Isabella's book, which is aimed at beginner readers, is a wonderful effort and a great credit to such a young writer," Ms Kwast said.

"The variety and extent of the local authors and illustrators whose works will be launched is testament to the amount of talent we have in the Laidley district.

"Tell Me a Story has become a special place, and is now much more than a bookshop. As well as being a publishing house, we also offer tuition in English and maths to more than 100 students."

Members of the public are invited to attend the book launch from 5pm on Saturday.
