Aussies get mental help

THOUSANDS of Australians with mental health problems are set to benefit from a boost in services in the new year.

More than $113 million in federal funding will be pumped into mental health services including online suicide prevention tools.

It is part of Labor's $274 million mental health strategy, outlined earlier this year.

Minister for Mental Health Mark Butler said a range of programs would be funded.

“These include assisting workers with depression, supporting men's mental health and improving the mental resilience of children,” he said.
