Aussie World puts on a new face - but no word on pub name
AUSSIE World has unveiled a new logo to launch the tourist attraction into a new era.
The pink, purple, green and yellow logo which is loosely in the shape of Australia replaces the yellow, red and royal blue number that has been the attraction's tag for years.
Chief operating officer Aaron Flanagan said Aussie World had become a bit too familiar to Sunshine Coast residents and it was time for a new look.
He said a lot of work had been done at the Aussie World in the last five to seven years, reeling off a string of rides, plus the $1.2 million revamp of the shed, and it was time for a fun new logo which reflected the new look and energy.
The new logo was revealed this morning at a trade show at Aussie World to familiarise tourist information centre volunteers with various attractions and accommodation operators on the Coast.
But there was still no word on a new name for the Ettamogah Pub, which has given the working title "The Put at Aussie World" since the Ettamogah name was brought down more than a year ago as part of a long-running dispute over royalties.
Mr Flanagan said management was currently working through the trademarking process and he hoped to be able to make an announcement in two or three months.
He said he understood people had been waiting a long time but it was paramount to make the right decision for a site that many people consider to be the gateway of the Sunshine Coast.
"We understand how important it is to the Coast to get it right," he said.
