At wheel for mercy dash

A WOMAN has lost her licence for six months after driving to collect personal items for her nephew when he was admitted to hospital.

Amanda Louise Edwards, 26, was caught speeding at 100km/h in an 80km/h zone on the Warrego Highway at Blacksoil.

Ipswich Magistrates Court heard Edwards admitted her licence had been suspended due to the accumulation of demerit points at the time.

Edwards pleaded guilty, was fined $400 and her licence was disqualified for six months.

She told the court she was driving to pick up some clothes for her nephew, who was admitted to hospital.
