Apple Isle dominates Australia’s 'Greatest Bogan' search
IT SEEMS Queensland and NSW "bogans" don't have what it takes to compete on the national stage.
Four out of the seven top bogans discovered on 7MATE's raunchy TV series The Bogan Hunters hail from Tasmania, with the other three finalists representing South Australia, Victoria and Western Australia.
"I think Tassie should secede from the rest of Australia and become its own bogan state," host Pauly Fenech told APN.
The final seven contenders were revealed on tonight's show, with the winner to be crowned next week.
Despite the show's 'boganologist' host and his team travelling to areas of southeast Queensland including Logan, West Ipswich and the Sunshine Coast, the Sunshine State's self-confessed bogans couldn't hold a candle to their southern counterparts.
There must be something in the water in Bridgewater, Tasmania, which has both father-of-eight Andrew and "Tassie's second-worst driver" Darren vying for the top prize.
The Australia's Greatest Bogan winner will take home the show's Golden Thong Award and an "Aussie pride" ute complete with beer kegs in the back.
The documentary-spoof, created and produced by Fenech, has been one of 7MATE's highest ever rating shows.
