Quest hopeful chases charity cash

By Andrew Korner

HARRISVILLE-based Rodeo Queen of Australia entrant Laressa Duncan will take full advantage of the extra time contestants have been given to raise money for the quest.

Late entries have forced organisers to change the judging date from October to March next year, giving Ms Duncan, who has raised about $3000, a better chance to reach her $10,000 target.

"You only have to raise $5000 to be eligible for Rodeo Queen but I'd also like to have a shot at Miss Fundraiser, which means I need to raise $10,000," Ms Duncan said.

Her next fundraiser will be on May 31 at Harrisville's Commercial Hotel, where she will host a sausage sizzle and auction from 11am. Horse rugs, cordless drills and furniture will be sold.
