Another hot day and showers expected

IPSWICH narrowly dodged another 40-degree day yesterday, with the temperature gauge peaking at 39.6 at Amberley weather station at 1.40pm.

Those further west of the city were not so lucky, with Gatton breaking the 40-degree barrier just after 1.30pm and registering a maximum of 41.5.

Another scorcher is predicted for today, with a maximum of 39 forecast.

A few late storms are also forecast and the top for tomorrow should be a much cooler 32.
