Angry TV fans petition Seven over A Place to Call Home axe

IF your favourite TV show was given the boot suddenly what would you do?

Kick the TV? Pen an angry letter to the station involved? Yell and scream until someone tells you to shh because their favourite show was still on?

When Channel Seven axed A Place to Call Home back in June it probably didn't realize the backlash that the decision would cause with loyal APTCH fans who were itching for a third season.

The show, set in the fifties, gained a strong following in the beginning but as views seemed to gradually plummet the network decided to pull the pin.

However more than 9000 people have rallied together to petition to return A Place to Call home to the big screen once more.

With Channel 9 announcing a fourth season of House Husbands, A Place to Call Home fans increased their pressure on Seven to bring back their favourite show.

"House Husbands has been struggling this year and has not been able to crack 800k viewers," A post on Facebook page Save A Place to Call Home read.

"Channel 9 has chopped and changed its night and seems to be dedicated to the show (House Husbands)… Shame Channel Seven, you should have shown the same respect to APTCH."

It seems there's plenty of Sunshine Coast fans too.

Maroochydore's Joanne Warner and Mooloolaba's Annette Attwell contacted the Daily to see if we could help to get their favourite show back on the air.

Both women are part of the Facebook page Save A Place to Call Home, a group who has banded together to write letters of complaint to Channel Seven.

"There's a lot of people really fired up since the axing of our show," Ms Attwell said.
