Angry renter used fence paling to break window

A FURIOUS renter hurled a fence paling through the window of a house because she was apparently upset about being evicted from the property without notice.

At Ipswich Magistrates Court yesterday, Meagan Louise Davies pleaded guilty to one count of wilful damage.

Police prosecutor Senior Constable Megan O'Brien said the 23-year-old broke the window with the wooden paling on May 11.

In her own defence, Davies said she been angry at her friend who had evicted her from the Raceview address without any notice.

Davies claimed she turned up to the house to find her belongings had been left on the front doorstep, which added to her annoyance.

Magistrate Deborah Vasta said although Davies may have got some satisfaction from damaging the house, her actions had serious consequences.

Davies was quick to agree with Ms Vasta and admitted that her actions had been "stupid".

Davies was convicted and fined $300.
