Alleged Queen St Mall 'gunman' to face court next month

A MAN accused of carrying a gun in Brisbane's busiest shopping precinct bringong the city to a halt has had his case mentioned in court.

Lee Matthew Hillier is accused of being armed in the Queen St mall and prompting the popular shopping strip's evacuation.

Police fired lethal and non-lethal rounds to gain control over the situation in March.

Hillier, from Caboolture, was charged with carrying an exposed weapon in a public place, going armed to cause fear and five counts of serious assault.

His case was mentioned in the Brisbane Magistrate's Court on Monday.

The case was adjourned to July 1.
