Alleged drunk hoon to face court

A SPRINGFIELD Lakes man will face court this month charged with driving at nearly five times the legal alcohol limit.

Police say the 26-year-old was intercepted on Springfield-Greenbank Arterial Rd about 3.45am on February 27.

The driver allegedly submitted a blood-alcohol reading of 0.241%.

He was also charged with creating unnecessary noise.

His licence was suspended immediately as a result of the allegations.

He will appear before Ipswich Magistrates Court on March 14.
