Driving offences land man in court

A MAN faced Ipswich Magistrates Court yesterday charged with a string of driving offences following an alleged incident in Goodna.

Aaron John Rogers, 22, has been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle while adversely affected, driving under the influence of liquor, bribery and obstructing police.

Police will allege Rogers was travelling on the incorrect side of the road at 12.30am on Thursday so pulled him over for a breath test on Bertha St.

Rogers allegedly locked his car doors and refused to leave the vehicle but got out after a passenger unlocked the door.

He was taken to Springfield Police Station where he recorded a reading of 0.203. Police will allege Rogers offered the officers an incentive to not be charged.

Rogers, from Currimundi, was allowed bail and will next appear in court for a mention on December 15 at 9am.
