Aldi set to open doors

REDBANK Plaza will complete its $15 million makeover tomorrow when supermarket Aldi opens its doors.

More than 3000 litres of paint coat the new look shopping centre, which included an expanded Coles and new stores The Reject Shop and Best and Less.

Shoppers are expected to swamp the store to grab the supermarket's special on big ticket items when the doors open at 8.30am.

Centre manager Lee Anderson said research indicated that customers were ready for a retail shake-up at the shopping centre.

"We are very excited to be delivering what our customers asked for in the full line Coles Supermarket which will site side by side with Aldi - no doubt one of the most in-demand retailers at the moment," he said.

Aldi managing director Viktor Jakupec said excitement has been building in the lead-up to the opening and employees were gearing up for a busy day.

"We are excited to show the community why Aldi continues to dominate the Roy Morgan customer satisfaction survey of household shoppers," he said.

"Our customers can expect nothing but top quality products at great prices."

Work has taken approximately six months with the centre receiving a full cosmetic upgrade.
