Big sister Aimee mourns her sisters following car crash

"MY best friends - I will miss them more then anything and I hope you all don't forget how amazing they were."

That was the heart-wrenching message of love from Aimee Schobbe for her two sisters Jessica, 16, and Rheanna, 12, after their tragic death in a car rollover after school on Thursday.

Tributes flooded onto the Facebook page dedicated to the memory of the two Yeppoon State High School students.

In less than 24 hours, more than 4000 people had "liked" the Facebook page, sharing support, love and memories.

Their older sister Aimee spoke of her emptiness.

"For all of you who didn't know my sisters, they were the most prettiest happiest girls I knew," she said.

Aimee described Rheanna as someone who was always helping people.

The 12-year-old participated in this year's Worlds Greatest Shave, cutting off her blonde hair to raise money for the Leukaemia Foundation.

Friends commented on what a caring girl she was.

"Her parents should be proud of a young, beautiful girl," one wrote.

"What a beautiful, bubbly, outgoing girl who touched the hearts of many," another said.

To honour Jessica, flowers were laid in the place she used to sit after school, along with more flowers at the entrance to Yeppoon High.

One friend described her as someone who was strong, loyal and independent.

"You couldn't help but like her," she said. "she was a beautiful, lovely girl."

The Facebook page is called "RIP beautiful girls Jessica and Rheanna Schobbe".

AS THE Yeppoon community pays tribute to "beautiful girls" Jessica and Rheanna Schobbe, police continue to investigate the circumstances of the accident which took their lives.

Senior Sergeant Ewan Findlater with the Rockhampton Road Policing Unit said this tragic case highlighted the consequences of inexperienced drivers getting behind the wheel.

"This highlights the need to make sure they're suitably supervised. At the end of the day, there's a reason you have to be 16 to get a learner's permit, and learners have stringent conditions."

The accident occurred on Norpine Road, a dirt road 12 kilometres from Yeppoon, at 3.45pm on Thursday afternoon as the girls were returning from school.

While Jessica, 16, was pronounced dead at the scene, her younger sister Rheanna was transported to Rockhampton Hospital before she died.

A third passenger, a 13-year-old girl, sustained extensive but non-life-threatening injuries and remains in hospital.

Insp Virginia Nelson said all three girls were thrown from the Nissan 4WD, and it appeared they were not wearing seatbelts.

After a horror day with three fatalities on Thursday, Capricornia's annual road toll rose to 18. That number is up by six on the figures from this time last year.

THE entrance at Yeppoon State High School was yesterday covered with flowers and messages of love for the two students who will not be rejoining their classmates.

"We are all deeply saddened that both girls could be taken so suddenly and unexpectedly," he said. "Both girls will be sadly missed by friends and staff."

Guidance counsellors were yesterday monitoring the students and staff at the school and counselling services had been put in place. Professional support staff will also advise teaching staff how to deal with students' reactions.
