Aerial water bombing display at open day

LOCKYER Valley residents will be treated to an aerial water bombing display at this weekend's Emergency Services Open Day.

Lockyer Valley Mayor Steve Jones said the open day was a great opportunity to see what it took to be part of the local emergency services in a fun and family-friendly environment.

"As we head into the storm season, it's vital that we do everything we can to prepare, act and survive," Cr Jones said.

Children are encouraged to come dressed as their favourite hero, with a rock climbing wall and prizes to be won on the day.

The free event will be held this Sunday from 10am-2pm at Ferrari Park, Laidley.
