Accused killer pleads not guilty to sexual assault of baby

ACCUSED baby killer Mervyn Douglas Bell has pleaded not guilty the sexual assault and murder of a 10-month old boy in the western Australian outback.

The 26-year-old is accused of attacking the baby, who died after being found seriously injured at a roadhouse near Karratha in March.

News.com reported Bell appeared in a Perth court via video link from the Albany jail.

A three week trial was listed to begin on August 18.
