Accused robber to stay in custody

A MAN charged with robbing an Ipswich service station at knife point before threatening several bystanders and stealing a truck will be held in custody until his next court appearance.

Police allege Craig Edward Davis 35, of Willowbank, entered a service station on the Cunningham Hwy at Willowbank on Sunday afternoon, threatening the attendant.

After fleeing to the car park, the man attempted to steal a car, before turning his attention to a man and woman in a truck.

Police later found the truck abandoned further down the highway and allegedly spotted Davis walking nearby.

Davis was charged with multiple offences, including two counts of armed robbery and one count of attempted armed robbery.

He faced Ipswich Magistrates Court on Monday, where he was remanded in custody to appear again on May 30.
