Book to showcase Ipswich's history
THE changing face of Ipswich will be on show in a special book to be published by the Queensland Times.
Then and Now records the history of the city since the days of its first convict camps.
The QT team has also recreated iconic photographs of landmarks and streets across the city, showing how the city has developed since the late 1800s.
Royal visits, regular events and iconic names in sport, politics and art also feature in Then and Now.
You can also read about the founding of the city and its greatest industries or enjoy a selection of 21st century photos chosen by the QT photographic team.
The photographs taken by historic business Whitehead Studios, which was founded in the 1880s, also feature throughout the book.
Don't miss your copy of this special publication when it comes out next month.
Then and Now will be available with the QT on March 24, and will also be available from the QT office on Brisbane St.
