A letter to tell your child you love them

TODAY I need to find some quiet time in my hectic day to pen a letter to my daughter.

I have been asked to write it by her school as part of a retreat she is attending with other Year 12 students.

All the parents have quietly been requested to provide letters for the children recounting their child's journey and the impact it has had on their lives.

My wife has already written her letter and she says that every time she re-reads it she starts to cry.

Knowing that I was writing this letter I have been looking back over her life and reflecting on what she has achieved.

This will be a hard story for me to tell because she has done so many special things.

The school's idea to hand these letters out is great one and that's why I have shared it today.

If your child is about to close off their school days, can I suggest you also write them a letter.

Place it on their pillow on their last school day so that when they come home they can read it.

All those words that you sometimes find hard to say can flow freely across the pages.

It won't be the easiest letter you have ever written, but I am sure that it will be one of the most rewarding.
