Prisoners scale roof in protest

BRISBANE Correctional Centre is in lock-down after two prisoners armed with poles climbed onto the roof in protest.

Police were called to the Wacol jail to negotiate the pair down from the building on Saturday about 3.30pm.

A Corrective Services spokesman said the men were protesting after a fellow in-mate was placed into solitary confinement.

They said there was no risk to public safety.

Roads remained open as unmarked officers patrolled the perimeter of the prison.
